Ridden osteopathic assessment

The way a horse moves is directly impacted by the rider that is on them – the way a rider moves is directly impacted by the horse that is beneath them.

Designed to help improve horse and rider performance, these sessions will last approximately 30 minutes, focusing on the biomechanics of both horse and rider, separately and as a pair. Assessing the duo in all three paces, as well as jumping if required, will highlight asymmetries, weaknesses and restrictions that may be caused by one and impacting the other.

You will receive a detailed report explaining the results of your ridden osteopathic assessment as well as advice on exercises to help address any biomechanical dysfunctions found. This can be used independently or to help tailor any further rider or equine osteopathy treatments carried out.

Maintenance and Prevention Treatment

By regularly keeping the muscles and joints functioning smoothly together injury can be avoided, health is maintained, performance becomes consistent and fitness levels are improved. A tailored maintenance plan can be established for you, the frequency of these visits depends entirely on your horse and its level of activity.

Veterinary Approval

It is a legal requirement that your animal must be registered with a vet so that osteopathic treatment can proceed. If your horse is healthy you do not need your vets’ consent for treatment to go ahead. However, if your horse is undergoing veterinary investigations and/or treatment you must get veterinary approval before any form of manual therapy can commence. You will receive a registration form to fill in upon booking your first appointment, we ask that you provide us with your vets’ details as well as confirm veterinary permission for treatment if required.
